Cincinnati Masters: In the third round, Roger Federer drops to Andrey Rublev…

The seven-time champion Roger Federer succumbed in straight sets to 21-year-old Russian qualifier Andrey Rublev in the third tread of the Cincinnati Masters.

Earlier this time, at Wimbledon,  Andrey proceeded to the second round, ceasing the Querrey of America

Well, the world number 70 triumphed 6-3 6-4 in just over an hour to set up a quarter-final upon national Daniil Medvedev.

Swiss 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer stood third, maps to race at the US Open sooner this month.

Moreover, downfall indicates he would have performed just two matches in readiness, after an opening victory over Juan Ignacio Londero.

Describing about his opponent Rublev, Roger Federer responded:

“He was outstanding on the floor today. He didn’t deliver me anything. It was tight for me however an exceptional match for him. I was impressed.

“I just would have wished for overall better execution. He was mixing it up perfectly on the server and the return he was steady.”

In a first meeting amid the two, Roger Federer initially snapped later at 2-0 down in the opening set however, Daniil Rublev fetched a 4-1 lead from which the Swiss could not even reach. He afresh had no clues as the Russian created the crucial break to traverse 4-3 in the second round.

Following his most generous career triumph till date, Daniil Rublev stated:

“It is such an astounding feel when you’re playing a legend like Roger and all these people cheering him until the finish. One day I hope I’m going to feel the corresponding.

“Today I was just attempting to do my best and was deeming in my head that I require to play each point until the end no matter what.”
