Pro Football Hall of Fame released for 2019 – Tony Gonzalez, Ed Reed Lead the Pack

The Pro Football Hall of Fame for 2019 has been released as part of the final step. Thursday, 3rd Jan 2019 found fifteen new age finalists have been announced in a run-up to the group’s final listing in a month’s time.

It should be noted that the finalist list is narrowed down from the 25 semi-finalists. The list includes five first-timers who have made it to the list. It should be heartening to learn that they have been included among the top 15 within their first year. Notable among them would be the names of cornerback Champ Bailey, tight end Tony Gonzalez, defensive end Richard Seymour and safety, Ed Reed.

The Hall of Fame selection committee will narrow down the list ultimately to ten finalists before choosing the top five final names to the Hall of Fame 2019. The process for the final five selection will be based on the voting by the committee, and each of the players should receive a minimum of 80 percent votes to make it t the final Hall of Fame list.

It may be worthwhile to note that a few notable names from the semi-finalists list could not make it to the finalist’s list. A few notable names missing from the finalist’s list are Coach Jimmy Johnson and wide receiver Hines Ward.
